His eyes were open wounds beneath his heavy brows, a blue as dark as the sea by night.
His deepset eyes regarded her uncomfortably.

The king’s eyes were dark blue bruises in the hollows of his face.
Stannis turned to study him. Beneath his heavy brow were eyes like bottomless blue pools.
Stannis studied him with those dark blue eyes.
The king’eyes were blue bruises, sunk deep in a hollow face.
Those deepset blue eyes of his seemed always slitted in suspicion, cold fury boiling just below their surface.
His eyes were sunk in deep pits, his close-cropped beard no more than a shadow across his hollow cheeks and bony jawbone. Yet there was power in his stare, an iron ferocity that told Asha this man would never, ever turn back from his course.
—As I promised a while ago, all the mentions of Stannis’ eyes throughout the books. Yes, I have no life, why do you ask? GRRM seems to have a bit of an obsession with Stannis’ eyes, the way he keeps mentioning them, but I won’t complain. The last two are my favourites, boiling cold fury and iron ferocity. I’d love to see a Tywin vs. Stannis stare contest. And the last quote almost makes me want to ship Stannis/Asha. Damn you, brain!
